General Rules and Regulations
- Each Dressage Test Entry $45.00
- Two-Phase entry $70.00,
- Eddy Farm Derby $40.00
- Lead- line Class $30.00
- Freestyle ride $50.00
- Freestyle ride with Multiple horses $50.00
- Post entry fee $20.00 per rider if entry postmarked after closing date and/or entry is incomplete. Show management still has the right to refuse entries after closing date. Please notify the show secretary if submitting a late entry.
- There are no refunds after closing date.
- Make checks payable according to the instructions for each show noted in the individual show description. Check payment types in each show's description, including Venmo.
- A complete entry includes: Negative coggins test within 12 months, rabies certificate within 12 months, signatures on the entry form and correct payment
- The rider times will available 2 days before the show. They will be made available both on the website and on the CDSS Facebook page.
- The Dressage tests are as follows: USDF Intro A&B&C (2023), USEF Training – Fourth USEF (2023) test, FEI (20), USEA eventing tests 2022, western dressage Intro to fourth (2023) (see Dressage Test Tab to download tests)
- Lead Line Class- Rider may not cross-enter into any other class in the show. There is a Leadline test for all lead line entries, see tests. All riders are expected to be on a lead line. Informal show attire. Class fee: $30.00
- Western riders are allowed to cross enter riding in English tack
- Management reserves the right to cancel, add or combine classes as entries warrant and change the running order of the classes. The classes will only be combined within the same level. The classes will be split by Juniors and Seniors.
- The order of the classes will vary from show to show.
- Intro through Training Level will be ridden in small arena unless otherwise stated by show management, Eventing Tests will be ridden in a small ring.
- All equipment for both rider and horse follows the USEF and USDF rules for dressage.
- All Riders are required to wear protective ASTM/SEI certified helmets and properly heeled shoes while mounted. Riders without proper helmets will be asked to stay dismounted.
- This helmet rules applies to Western Dressage Riders
- Please leave your dogs at home!
TEAM COMPETITION GUIDELINES
Dressage Show Teams competition for year end championship:
*Form your teams based on any criteria: representing a stable, a trainer, just friends, horses of the same breed, same color...anything, have fun
*The team needs to be registered by June 10th
*Team members’ scores at the CDSS shows count towards the Dressage Show Team Competition for a year end prize.
*A team may consist of 2 to 6 riders, no matter if junior or senior, but each rider can only be a member of only 1 team. No more than 6 members.
*All teams need to be registered by June 10th. Riders can be added and there can be a horse change, but all changes need to be done by July 10th. *For the team to qualify for the year end prize, there needs to be 2 or more members at the same show and three or more scores from the day. There will be one score calculated from that show. All the scores from the team members rides will be averaged together to comprise the score from that show. If there are 4 or more rides the lowest score will be dropped.
*The team needs to have a score from at least three CDSS shows.
*All the scores of the team members at the show that day will be averaged together to make that show's score. If there 4 or more scores that day the lowest score will be dropped.
* The team with the highest average from three of the top 3 shows will win the team Challenge.
*There will be a second place prize for the runner up.

TWO-PHASE GUIDELINES
Check out these lower level divisions:
Grasshopper division and 2'3" Elementary
Because we felt the divisions as they were had too large a step between elementary and beginner novice we added another division of 2'3".

*2-phase class entry involves one dressage test and one jumping round.
*On the show's entry form, indicate clearly which dressage test you chose
Each division has pre-selected dressage tests to choose from.
The rider must pick one test and state clearly on the entry which test they will ride.

- to qualify you must ride in 3 CDSS shows or more, same horse and rider combination,
in which 2 shows are ridden in the 2-phase division.
- The year end championship will be based on your placings, In case of a tie the tie breaker will be based on the highest average dressage score.
1st place=5 points,
2nd place =3 points
3rd place = 2 points
4th place = 1 point

-Helmets/Hats: All Riders must wear **ASTM/SEI certified helmets...
All CDSS schooling shows are following the new helmet rule of the USEF:
New 2011 USEF Helmet rule: Effective March 1, 2011, for dressage:
Anyone mounted on a horse must wear protective headgear except those
riders age 18 and over while on horses that are competing only in FEI levels
and tests at the Prix St. Georges level and above.
- Riders entering western dressage classes may ride the same horse in english tack.
- Intro tests and Basic test will mostly be in the small ring, Level 1, Level 2, and level 3 tests will mostly be in the large ring.
